Can someone please answer a very dumb question I have about Second Life?
Why are there so many chairs?
I guess I’m just showing my complete lack of understanding, but I really wonder that. I mean, I was just exploring a little in SL and couldn’t get over the number of places there were to sit. Funny thing is, I am feeling pretty comfortable in my recliner right now. My little avatar isn’t tired in the least.
I guess I still don’t get it…

It’s the illusion of a virtual world. Honestly, I never thought about it, but just about anytime I strike up a conversation with someone in SL, we end up sitting down. I’ll attach a coffee cup to my hand, or maybe a little SL “sauce”. It adds to the user’s perception of SL as a virtual environment.

My avatar doesn’t like to be left standing in a crowd. She must sit off to the side and watch those around her. And when I’m out of SL, I can’t imagine her standing up for days at a time. The blurring of first life and second life…………

Yes, she’s sitting off to the side… but with a box of ice skates on her head!
